Liquid Facelift
We all could use a little facial rejuvenation, especially if we’ve been spending lots of time down on the Gulf. But most of us either don’t feel the need for the degree of rejuvenation provided by a surgical facelift, or we’re just not interested in having surgery.
For these patients, Dr. Carpin has the perfect solution at Acqua Medspa, the liquid facelift. Using a combination of neuromodulators and dermal fillers, Dr. Carpin can achieve much of what a surgical facelift can without a single suture.
WHAT IS A LIQUID FACELIFT?
A liquid facelift can:
- Reduce wrinkles, creases, lines, and folds
- Gently lift facial features
- Restore natural, curved facial contour
- Provide a more rested, energetic appearance
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A LIQUID FACELIFT COMPARED TO A SURGICAL FACELIFT?
As mentioned above, a liquid facelift can achieve many of the results of a surgical facelift, but without the lengthy recovery time and possible surgical problems. We’ve all seen plenty of celebrities with botched facelift surgeries, and those changes are permanent.
With a liquid facelift, Dr. Carpin can adjust the fillers used to the patient’s needs. Even after the initial session she can make adjustments according to your unique goals. Surgical facelifts can look unnatural and overly tight. Liquid facelifts simply return volume to areas such as the cheeks or they relax muscles creating wrinkles; they don’t stretch skin.
These procedures involve very low risk and are quite satisfying, making the patient look instantly younger and more rejuvenated. They cost far less than a surgical facelift, as well. Of course, this is mitigated by the fact that the results provided by the fillers and neuromodulators used by Dr. Carpin have a shorter lifespan than surgery.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A LIQUID FACELIFT?
As we get older, there isn’t a person out there who wouldn’t benefit from addressing some of the signs of aging that continue to multiply. But many people aren’t interested in a surgical facelift, at least not yet. They don’t want the surgery or the involved recovery.
That’s what makes our liquid facelifts so popular with our patients from Webster and the Houston area. Dr. Carpin can achieve results formerly only attainable through surgery with injectables.
We all age in different ways, and we completely personalize our Acqua Medspa liquid facelifts to meet your unique facial aging needs.
If you have severe sagging in your skin, however, a liquid facelift probably can’t deliver the results you want, as it’s more important to remove excess skin and reposition underlying support musculature. That would be really the only case where a surgical facelift would be a better solution.
HOW IS A LIQUID FACELIFT PERFORMED?
The first step is your liquid facelift consultation where Dr. Carpin can hear from you the areas you’d like to target, and she can examine your facial aging to plan for which injectables she will need to use and where she wants to place your injections.
She will examine the degree of looseness in your skin to get an idea of what can be achieved.
Your actual liquid facelift will begin with topical anesthetic cream applied across the injection sites. Once this has taken effect, Dr. Carpin will start with your injections. She works systematically across the areas you’re targeting.
Creating your liquid facelift only takes between 15 and 30 minutes, depending upon how many different fillers and neuromodulators are involved.
There isn’t any recovery, and you can get right back to your normal activities after you leave our beautiful offices on Gulf Freeway.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
These are single session treatments, and the entire liquid facelift takes just 15-30 minutes to perform.
HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS OF MY LIQUID FACELIFT LAST?
The duration of your liquid facelift depends on which injectables Dr. Carpin has used. She uses any of the fillers in both the Juvéderm and Restylane lines, and each has specific target areas. For instance, both Juvéderm Voluma and Restylane Lyft are excellent for returning volume to the cheeks. Placement also plays a role in duration. Because different injectables have different lifespans before the body absorbs them, touch-up procedures can be necessary to maintain your liquid facelift before the longest-lasting products are absorbed by the body.
You can count on any neuromodulator areas lasting from 4-6 months. Dermal fillers last anywhere from 6 months to two years. During your consultation, Dr. Carpin will discuss these aspects of your liquid facelift. One great thing about these treatments is that if an area is starting to lose its fullness, Dr. Carpin can place some individual injections there to maintain your results.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS INVOLVED WITH A LIQUID FACELIFT?
The injectables used by Dr. Carpin for her liquid facelifts are all approved by the FDA. Each has been used across the globe for years (almost two decades for Botox), and they have proven to be safe and very effective for returning volume to areas and for relaxing wrinkles.
The typical side effects with all injectables are slight swelling and redness at the injection sites. This usually resolves in a few hours. Botox can sometimes cause a slight headache for up to 24 hours after injection, but this runs its course. The main potential side effect is that Botox can relax an unintended muscle, creating issues such as a droopy eyelid. That’s why you need to only trust a liquid facelift to an experience board-certified plastic surgeon such as Dr. Carpin. Her knowledge of facial anatomy, and her experience with these injectables ensures you’ll be satisfied with your results.
